Undine & Her Tempestuous Mind

She was a storm, almost always.

Lost in the middle of the great island, her skin dried and withered with her heart and she sang a lament for the ocean storms, the waves that had given her life and the wind that had blown her soul into being.

With the autumn came the heather, and a strange new wind. The wind blew her southwards and when she awoke in the morning, her lover, the ocean greeted her and cradled her in it's arms.

She longed never to become lost on land again, but instead to be engulfed by the waters and swallowed so that she may exist a part of it forever. She wanted it to be so much so that she would readily shed her skin and become only pure soul.

But she had a promise to keep.

For now, her fate lay on the land.
So instead Ocean visited her in her dreams, and some nights sang to her as she slept.
She was haunted by visions of her past life and future life where there was no place for metal and smoke.
She clung to those dreams for they were a promise.
That one day, she could shed her human skin
and be Undine again.

  1. There's a great flute piece by Reinecke called the Undine Sonata! All about the nymph Undine! You look pretty, these photos are charming!x

    1. Thankyou Kezzie :) I've not heard of the Undine Sonata but I do enjoy Sonata's so I should look it up ^_^
Laura Marling also has a song about an Undine which is great because I love her music and always admired her work so I was super happy when she wrote a song about one of my favourite creatures of myth :)
The fog was so beautiful that day, I couldn't not run down to the beach and take photographs! x

I love it and wish it would last forever but it's sadly so fragile that everytime I wear it, it falls apart just a little bit more :(

Thankyou for your kind words about my photos :) You don't sound creepy at all! :P I truly appreciate everyones kindness and time they've taken to look at my work so I thank YOU for giving me the motivation to share them :D xxx

    1. Not at all! The air was chilly and damp with seamist and drizzle so it actually made the water pleasantly warm. Sadly not warm enough to fully submerge as I had hoped! :P

    1. Oh Mimmi :) You're lovely!
I just make photo's about my part of the world ^_^ I think nature and the land/seascape is just so immensely beautiful that they speak for themselves - I'm just here to share with everyone how much joy and peace there is or try and give reality to a sort of fairytale world of my childhood that I desperately cling on to. I'm not sure. I've no idea what I'm doing really :P I just feel this burning need to photograph everything that brings me joy and share it! xxx
